MISSION STATEMENT

The Mona Lisa Code is a specific field of public interest presented as one of the great discoveries and cultural treasures of human history. It is a vivid glimpse into the genius and wonder of Leonardo da Vinci that provides an unprecedented understanding of secret symbolism lying at the heart of ancient religious traditions.

Education and Entertainment

“The Mona Lisa Code” made its international appearance with the publication in June, 2010, of Scott Lund's ground-breaking copyrighted article exposing the symbolic meaning behind Leonardo's iconic painting—the Mona Lisa. The title is also used for: Lund's feature film documentary project which began shooting in Rome during the summer of 2010; his action-adventure television series which debuted on March 24, 2011; and his continuing book series which saw its first publication by Anima Sol in 2011 (ISBN 978-1-4507-8133-6).

Because of the world's fascination with Leonardo da Vinci in general, and the Mona Lisa in particular, it is not possible to separate the purely educational elements of the Mona Lisa Code from the broad category of things that have entertainment value. Indeed, it is preferable to embrace the field of entertainment in order to reach the largest audience possible. As exemplified by popular interest in author Dan Brown's "Da Vinci Code" books, and their resultant feature film releases, there is nothing to prevent interpretations of history and theoretical discoveries from being viewed as entertainment.

For the combined purpose of both education and entertainment, Lund is creating, producing, and distributing, videos, books, and digital media on the subject of the Mona Lisa Code, with artistic interpretations expressed through music, photography, special effects, and film concept including both factual and fictional script development.

Printed and Electronic Text

The first book of the Mona Lisa Code series was published by Anima Sol in 2011 (ISBN 978-1-4507-8133-6), and will soon be followed up by another book with additional historic discoveries. The entire series, which includes the publication of an article in Bel-Air magazine in June, 2010, is a scholarly endeavor that has revealed much in the fields of history, culture, symbolism, art, religion, and mythology.

While the Mona Lisa Code continues to provide educational information in the form of printed publications such as books, magazines, newsletters, pamphlets, informational sheets, and fliers, it also includes electronic media publishing of the same. This website, for instance, features resources in the nature of information about the history and secret meaning of the Mona Lisa, its cultural context within the Italian Renaissance, and a new understanding of the life and times of Leonardo da Vinci.

Entertainment in the nature of an on-going television program about the Mona Lisa Code began on March 24, 2011, with the production of a series segment explaining the main elements of Lund's discovery prior to his public presentation in Rome on September 10, 2011. Lund was featured in the video, which marked his debut appearance as both a scholarly expert and a performer providing information of a cultural, educational, and entertainment nature. Mr. Lund is currently auditioning and casting members for a team that will be featured in future segments of his reality-based television series. The purpose of the series is to present, in an entertaining and creative manner, additional discoveries and elements of the Mona Lisa Code.

Education and Children

Lund intends the Mona Lisa Code to form the basis for a new paradigm in education. He is developing an initiative directed at mentoring children and teenagers, and providing them with an educational model for inquiry and discovery that transcends conventional teaching techniques. Using the Mona Lisa Code as a model for inspired analytical thinking through multidisciplinary research and investigative techniques, Lund believes that youth can strive for genius by developing their subconscious minds as a means for problem solving, subliminal communication, and creative expression. By working through Fundatus, a California nonprofit directed toward educational research and child development, Lund is exploring ways to achieve genius in youth through the example of Leonardo da Vinci himself. Lund has pledged the Mona Lisa Code project to support the above goals.

Speaking Engagements and Public Appearances

In an effort to provide an in-person cultural, educational, and entertainment forum in the field of the Mona Lisa Code, Scott Lund is available to make speaking engagements and public appearances throughout the world. Those interested in booking Mr. Lund for an educational presentation, lecture, entertainment event, or multimedia exhibition, should contact publicist Elizabeth Venturini. Mr. Lund has pledged his speaking fees to be donated to the nonprofit Fundatus to further its cause toward the education of children.

What would Da Vinci do?

Toward the aforementioned cumulative accomplishments and efforts of the Mona Lisa Code enterprise, one wonders what Leonardo da Vinci might think of it all? The question is asked: “What would Da Vinci do?” The answer seems quite clear. In keeping with Leonardo's character, Lund will use a multifarious ingenuity in providing for entertainment and educational services concerning the Mona Lisa Code, including exhibitions of cultural value utilizing varied methods of electronic communication and display. These may include, but are not limited to: website content including photographic, audio, and video presentations; a continuing program or series accessible by radio, television, satellite, audio, video, and computer networks; material distributed to mobile handsets; on-line activities and interactive exhibits; 3D and virtual reality; organization of travel tours; presentation of seminars, lectures, workshops, and panel discussions; and ongoing television and radio talk shows in the field of public interest generally defined as: “The Mona Lisa Code.”
